This project will take about one and a half years to complete. Interestingly, this steel plant will be environment friendly as its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions will be much less than other steel plants. Major products produced here will include Tiscon bars which are used in construction of overbridges, houses and other infrastructure.
Automated Construction Service Center was inaugurated by Tata in Ludhiana, which was a big dream of Ratan Tata. The center is spread over 5 acres and has a production capacity of 1500 TPM (tonnes per month). The facility is manufacturing bored pile cages with customized cut and bent Tata Tiscon TMT rebar and coupler threading under Tiscon Readybuild. The facility will later expand its downstream solutions portfolio to include welded wire mesh. Thus it is establishing itself as a one-stop downstream manufacturing service centre. This facility has been created in collaboration with the company's channel partner Krishna Business Associates. This state-of-the-art facility is the fourth such center for Tata Steel, with three other centers having recently opened in Cuttack, Ghaziabad and Vijayawada. The company plans to set up 10 such centers across the country by 2025.
