Banks will remain closed on Thursday 10th October due to Maha Saptami. Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Assam, Nagaland and Bengal on 10th. There will be regular work in banks everywhere else. Mahasaptami is celebrated on the fifth day of Durga Puja and is considered an important festival during Navratri. This day is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga, when the seventh form of the goddess is worshipped.

Banks will remain closed due to Mahasaptami

Maha Saptami is celebrated as the 'Kalratri' form of Goddess Durga, who destroys ignorance and evil. On this day devotees try to seek the blessings of Maa Durga with holy bath, puja and fasting. Maha Saptami is celebrated with special enthusiasm in Bengal, Assam, Odisha and other eastern states. Bank branches will remain closed during this holiday, but online banking services will continue.
