AB-PMJAY That means the government can make another big announcement regarding Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. It has been told that this scheme can be expanded in terms of diseases, under which many diseases including Alzheimer's and dementia can be covered. However, nothing has been said officially about this. Recently the Central Government had announced to include all senior citizens above 70 years of age in this scheme.

According to a report, government sources have said that the National Health Authority is preparing to include more packages in the Ayushman Bharat scheme. This especially includes diseases that affect the elderly due to age. It is being told that after the expansion of the scheme, there is a possibility of a huge increase in the number of beneficiaries. Currently, the scheme includes 25 health packages.

Sources said a committee headed by medical experts regularly reviews AB-PMJAY. However, this case is special, because it focuses on a subgroup. The committee will work on health issues affecting the elderly. This especially includes diseases that require hospitalization. They will try to prepare a package so that treatment can be provided at the right time.

According to the report, stroke, heart failure, cancer, Alzheimer's and dementia are among the health problems that many older people face. A health ministry official said there is a possibility that the package designed for the elderly may also include treatment for these diseases and complications.

Under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, launched in the year 2018, all senior citizens aged 70 years and above of any income group get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh.
