It will be sold through the retail outlets of National Cooperative Consumers Federation of India (NCCF), NAFED and Suphale in Delhi and surrounding areas. Apart from this, tomatoes will also be sold through mobile vans.

Tomato crop damaged due to rain

In the last few days, the prices of many vegetables including tomatoes have increased. Tomato crop has been damaged due to rain in many areas including Maharashtra. According to the government, tomato prices have increased by 39 percent in October. In the last month the average price has increased from Rs 44 to Rs 62 per kg. According to official data, the price of tomato in the wholesale market has increased from Rs 3562 per quintal to Rs 5045 per quintal.

The price of vegetarian thali has increased

According to the latest report of rating agency CRISIL, there has been a huge jump in the prices of veg thali. The prices of vegetarian thali have increased by 11 percent. The biggest contribution among these is the price of vegetables. However, the prices of non-vegetarian thali have declined by 2 per cent. Even before this, when the prices of tomatoes had increased, the government had started selling in a similar manner. During that time tomato was being sold at Rs 60 per kg.

Farmers and consumers had to face double blow

Traders and farmers say that tomato crops have also been damaged in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Last year production was more. Tomato crop is also affected by diseases in many areas. Due to this the supply has also reduced. Transport has also become expensive due to rain.
