Firozabad, 05 October (Hindustan Reporter). The court on Saturday sentenced a gangster accused to seven years' imprisonment. A fine has also been imposed on him. If he does not pay the fine, he will have to face additional punishment. On July 30, 2017, the then Inspector in-charge of Police Station North had registered a case under Gangster Act against Shankar Shankhwar, son of Pancham Singh, resident of Jhalkari Nagar Police Station North.
After investigation, the police filed a charge sheet against him in the court. The case proceeded in the court of Additional Sessions Judge, Special Judge Gangster Act Court No. 9 Archana Gupta. Special Public Prosecutor Murari Lal Lodhi, who is prosecuting the case on behalf of the prosecution, said that the witness testified during the trial. Many evidences were presented before the court.
Shankar also confessed to his crime. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to 7 years of imprisonment. Besides, a fine of Rs 10,000 was also imposed on him. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional punishment of 2 months.
