Meta has made significant changes to the monetization program of its social media platform Facebook. Till now, the company was running three different creator monetization programs. Now the company is going to merge these three monetization programs. This new decision of the company will benefit the creators, who can easily earn money from Facebook.
Earning can be done in three ways
Currently, creators can earn money on Facebook in three ways. These three methods include in-stream ads, reel ads, and bonus displays. All three methods have different requirements and sign up process. Under the new monetization program, creators now have to sign up in one place.
Creators are not able to earn enough
Meta recently announced that the company paid out nearly $2 billion to creators last year for posting Reels, videos, text, and photos on its platform. The company also believes that creators are not monetizing the platform to its full potential. Only one-third of manufacturers are taking advantage of multiple monetization programs.
what changed?
The new monetization policy will also work like the old program. It now has a performance based payment model. With which creators will be able to earn through their reels, long videos, photos and text posts like before. Meta will give all creators access to an internal tab, allowing them to easily track earnings across different content formats and posts.
How to apply for the new monetization program?
Meta's new monetization feature is still in beta mode. Meta is testing this new program with approximately 1 million creators. It is possible that this program will be rolled out for all users next year i.e. by 2025. Beta testing has started this week.
