The Israel Defense Forces shared an update saying that for the first time in nearly 2 months, sirens are sounding in southern Israel. The development comes days after Iran fired hundreds of missiles in a war against Israel on Tuesday.
According to Al Jazeera, Iran said it fired about 180 ballistic missiles at Israel in response to the killings of top leaders of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The country is facing a two-front war, with Iran-backed Hezbollah attacking the northern part of the country and Hamas attacking the southern border.
This is how it started
The decades-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict turned into a bloody war when Palestinian Hamas terrorists entered Israel and attacked on October 7, 2023. 1,200 people were killed in this attack and about 250 people were taken hostage. Israel retaliated by attacking Gaza, killing more than 41,000 Palestinians and displacing almost the entire population of Gaza, according to Gaza's health ministry. After this, a famine crisis arose and Israel was accused of genocide.
