Karachi, 05 October (HS). Controversial Islamic preacher Dr Zakir Naik, who is facing allegations of money laundering in India, will deliver a lecture in Karachi, Pakistan this evening. A large number of people are expected to attend this program.
According to Pakistani channel ARY News, Dr. Karachi Traffic Police has made traffic changes in view of Zakir Naik's lecture. It has been decided to close some roads for parking of vehicles. This program will start at 7 pm at Bara Dari near Jinnah Bagh. According to Karachi Traffic Police, parking of vehicles will be available at two designated sites – YMCA Ground and DJ College Ground. From here people will have to walk to the Polo Ground.
The roads leading to Bara Dari, Awan Sadar Road and the road from Fawara Chowk to Khajoor Chowk will remain closed. Vehicles coming from II Chandragarh Road and Shaheen Chowk will be directed towards PIDC via Ziauddin Road and Khajoor Chowk. Traffic from PIDC will be diverted towards Club Road and Metropole towards Clifton or Shahrah-e-Faisal. Further diversions include traffic from Shaheen Complex signal, which will move towards MR Kayani Chowk and Zainab Market and from Fawwara Chowk towards Awari signal, which will move towards Shahrah-e-Faisal and Teen Talwar.
Both sides of Sindh Club Chowk to Metropole and Fawwara Chowk have been declared no parking zones. Karachi Traffic Police has advised residents and people visiting the event to plan their routes accordingly to avoid disruption.
