Islamabad, 04 October (HIST). Peshawar High Court today stayed the arrest of Ali Amin Gandapur, Chief Minister of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The High Court granted him protective bail for one month.
According to ARY News, Gandapur's petition was heard by Justice Syed Arshad Ali and Justice Waqar Ahmed. Earlier today Gandapur moved the Peshawar High Court for transit bail in the cases registered against him in Islamabad. Gandapur said in the petition that he wants to appear in the court but he may be arrested before appearing in the court. He urged the court to fix the hearing of the petition today and grant him transit bail to appear before the court.
Earlier, an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Ali Amin Gandapur in a case registered at Police Station I-9 under terrorism sections. The court rejected Gandapur's pre-arrest bail plea and ordered him to appear before the court.
