Sensex today touched a low of 82432.02 with a difference of 1832.27 points. Finally it closed down 1769.19 points at 82497.10. Nifty fell by 566.6 points and lost the important level of 25500. Finally closed at 25250.10 with a fall of 546.80 points.
Investors' capital reduced by Rs 10 lakh crore
The stock market, which has been giving a green signal to investors for the last few days, has declined tonight. After yesterday's holiday, a big fall of rupee was recorded in the market today. A deficit of Rs 9.74 lakh crore has been recorded. Out of total 4072 shares traded on BSE, 2864 shares closed with losses. While 1120 shares closed in the green zone.

Amidst the general selling, a difference of up to 2 percent was recorded in the midcap and smallcap indices. Except metal, all major sector indices fell by 1 to 2.50 per cent. Realty index was the top loser with a maximum decline of 4.62 percent. The volatility index fell more than 10 percent.
