Hyderabad, 1 October (Hindustan Reporter). Matchweek 4 of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 will begin with the match between Hyderabad FC and Chennaiyin FC to be played at the Gachibowli Stadium this evening.
Hyderabad FC had shown fighting spirit in their previous match before losing 0-2 against Punjab FC, while Chennaiyin FC had lost 0-1 to Mohammedan SC last Thursday.
Hyderabad FC have been solid defensively against Chennaiyin FC. They have conceded one or less goals in each of their last eight ISL matches against Chennaiyin FC. During this period he has won four matches and lost only twice.
Chennaiyin FC has scored in each of its last four away matches. This shows that they will test the Hyderabad FC backline.
Hyderabad FC head coach Thangboi Singto is taking inspiration from last season, when his team defeated Chennaiyin FC.
“The boys have gelled with each other over the last few weeks of training,” Singto said in the pre-match conference. We have played only away matches so far and our next match will be at home. Chennaiyin FC was the only team we beat last season. Will we defeat him again? This is what I want.”
According to Chennaiyin FC's Scottish head coach Owen Coyle, the team has made a better start this time than last season, but there is still a lot of scope for improvement.
“I would definitely love to move up the table with six points,” Coyle said. “We have three, which is better than last year but we could have reached six points.”
10 matches have been played in ISL between Hyderabad FC and Chennaiyin FC, out of which both have won four each. Two matches are drawn.
