Prayagraj, 30 September (HS). Under the Chief Minister Mati Kala Rojgar Yojana, a scheme run by the Uttar Pradesh Mati Kala Board through the Khadi Village Industries of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, a loan of up to Rs 10 lakh is given to the youth of the state including the professional classes through banks as per the prescribed rules. To get the benefit of this scheme, the applicant has to apply online in Mati Kala Yojana Uttar Pradesh.

According to the information received from the Information Department, there are many families in Uttar Pradesh who are dependent on chalk business. Through the Clay Art Scheme, potters, potters and youth related to clay art have been given a golden opportunity to expand their business by taking loans. Apart from this, under the scheme, the government is also giving electric chalk to the youth absolutely free. Under this scheme, training is being provided to the general backward and scheduled caste boys and girls of rural areas. This training is provided in coordination with the Mati Kala Yojana under the Skill Improvement Scheme. The age limit for training is 18 years to 45 years.

It has been told that this will provide employment to the unemployed people of the state. Clay and craft industries will develop and business will increase. People will be encouraged to use earthen utensils more instead of plastic. Using earthen pots will improve your health due to the 26 nutrients present in the soil. Promoting pottery will also prevent import of foreign products. Excessive use of earthen utensils will also prevent pollution caused by plastic.

Through the Mati Kala Yojana, the tradition of pottery made from clay can be saved from extinction. Nowadays people use disposable more and more. Use it once and throw it away. Due to the use of disposable, harmful chemicals enter our body due to which we become vulnerable to serious diseases. Therefore, by promoting earthen utensils we can avoid dangerous diseases.

District Information Officer said that another objective of this scheme is to encourage potters to use new technology and promote technological development. Under this, training and technical workshops and development activities are being conducted to provide self-employment to the clay artisans. Newly trained artisans are being provided training and necessary equipment for developing new designs. The objective of this scheme is also to provide housing to the eligible beneficiaries.

On the lines of Mukhyamantri Gramodyog Rojgar Yojana, loans up to Rs 10 lakh are made available through banks. There is a provision to pay 25 percent margin money as grant on capital loans. In the last years, 934 units were established in the state in which loans were distributed and employment was provided to 2802 persons. In the last years, under this program, training and clay art toolkits were distributed to 15932 beneficiaries. Due to which thousands of people got employment. In the current financial year, employment is being provided to 2325 persons by distributing electrically operated pottery wheels and other equipment to 2700 beneficiaries.
