Ravindra Jadeja: In the second Test cricket being played between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has completed 300 wickets in Test cricket by taking one wicket. Ravindra Jadeja achieved this feat by catching Khalid Ahmed on his own ball. With this, Jai Jadeja became the first left-arm spinner to take 300 wickets in the history of Indian Test cricket.

Jadeja is the only left-arm spinner in Asia

Earlier, the bowler who took the most wickets in Test cricket was left-arm spinner Bishan Singh Bedi. But now Jadeja has created a new record by taking 300 wickets. Jadeja is the third left-arm spinner in the world to have 300 Test wickets. Rangana Herath of Sri Lanka is the left-arm spinner who has taken the maximum number of 433 Test wickets. Apart from this, Daniel Vettori of New Zealand has taken 362 wickets. However, Jadeja is the only left-arm spinner in Asia to have scored more than 3000 runs and also taken 300 wickets in Tests. At the same time, Jadeja has become the seventh Indian bowler to take 300 wickets in Test cricket.

Apart from Jadeja, only one player could achieve this

With the completion of 300 wickets, Ravindra Jadeja has left behind legends like Imran Khan and Kapil Dev. Jadeja has scored more than 3000 runs and taken 300 wickets by playing 74 tests. Imran Khan achieved this feat in 75 Tests and Kapil Dev in 83 Tests. Apart from Jadeja, only Ian Botham has been able to score more than 3000 runs and take more than 300 wickets in 72 Test matches.

Anil left Kumble behind

Meanwhile, the special thing about Jadeja is that he has completed 300 Test wickets with a better bowling average than legendary spinner Anil Kumble. Jadeja's bowling average is 23.99 while Anil Kumble completed 300 wickets at an average of 29.65. Talking about batting, Jadeja's test average has been better than KL Rahul. KL Rahul's test batting average is 34.13. Whereas, Jadeja has scored runs at an average of 36.73.
