New Delhi : The last date for finalizing the teams for the mega auction of IPL 2025 has been fixed as October 31. IPL franchises can jointly choose the retention and right-to-match (RTM) options. A maximum of six players can be retained, with no more than five capped (Indians and overseas) and two uncapped (Indians) selected.
IPL teams will have to submit the retention list to BCCI by this date.
The Governing Council of IPL announced the rules on Saturday. If a player makes his international debut before October 31, he will be considered capped, but if a player makes his international debut a day before the auction, he will be considered uncapped.
A release issued by the IPL said that this is at the discretion of the IPL franchise. There can be six retentions/RTMs, where a maximum of five capped players and a maximum of two uncapped players can be retained.
