After installation of smart meter, the amount of electricity consumed in the house every day will be visible on the consumer's mobile. Kesco is making an app to check electricity expenditure. There will also be information about how much electricity was consumed.

Kesco will completely eliminate the billing problem in the next two years. Every day consumers reach the electricity office with complaints of not receiving their bills. Kesco officials will achieve the target of installing smart meters in the homes of six and a half lakh consumers in the next two years. At present, smart meters have been installed in 1.5 lakh houses. Kesco is spending a budget of Rs 582 crore on this work.

Meters are being checked in 30 thousand houses

Kesco is currently installing check meters in the homes of 30 thousand consumers. Their results are being checked. Kesco has created a consumer app for the convenience of consumers. In which the consumer will be able to see how many units of electricity were spent in a day. With the introduction of this system, billing meters will be completely abolished. Officials say that billing will be done only from meters above 25 kilowatts. Apart from this, only smart prepaid meters will be installed in all the houses.

Kesco Director Rakesh Varshney said- Kesco will install smart prepaid meters in every consumer's house. Those whose houses are already metered will not be charged for meter installation. Meters above 25 kW will be billed. Through the app created by Kesco, consumers will also know how many units of electricity were spent for how many rupees per day.
