Lakhimpur Kheri, 28 September (HIST). An awareness seminar on World Heart Day was organized among the students of Biology subject of the school under the joint aegis of Yoga Wellness Center and Yuvraj Dutt Inter College of Oil Town.
While addressing the students in the program, school teacher Umesh Kumar Singh said that nowadays, due to contaminated food, lack of exercise and following bad lifestyle, heart related diseases have started increasing rapidly among the people. Most of its victims today are the youth. Nowadays lakhs of people are dying due to heart attack, stroke and heart failure.
Addressing the students, Dr. Sumant Kumar said that every year on 29 September, World Heart Day is celebrated in the country and abroad. The purpose behind celebrating it is to prevent heart related diseases by making people aware about the heart. This day was celebrated for the first time in the year 2000 by the Word Heart Federation with the consent of the Word Health Organization. Since then this day is being celebrated with the aim of making people aware. Ayurveda and yoga are playing an important role in preventing heart diseases. By managing Ayurvedic lifestyle, youth can avoid cardiovascular disorders like blood pressure, brain stroke, heart stroke etc.
Yoga instructor Prince Ranjan Baranwal said that youth can easily keep their heart healthy by eating right, regular yoga practice, time management and lifestyle management and staying away from drugs, laziness and carelessness. Students should get health benefits by regularly playing games like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Football, Rope Jump etc. instead of spending time on mobile phones.
In the program, demonstrations were also given to the students by giving them information about breathing, Surya Namaskar, Pragya Yoga, Ustrasana etc. The senior teachers of the school along with students of science subjects were present in the program.
