New Delhi, 28 September (Hindustan Reporter). Australia all-rounder Cameron Green has been ruled out of the ongoing England tour due to a back injury and it is not clear at the moment how this will affect his participation in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Cricket Australia (CA) said the full severity of Green's injury would be determined following assessment upon his arrival in Perth. The first Test against India is about two months away, with the first Test starting on November 22 in Perth.
The 25-year-old complained of pain after the third ODI at Chester-le-Street, where he took 2 for 45 with the ball and 45 with the bat. Initial scans revealed a back injury, forcing him to return home ahead of the upcoming crucial series against India.
Green was rested from the second ODI against England in Leeds to manage his workload, but he played all three T20Is against Scotland.
Australia have had a disappointing tour of Britain so far in terms of injuries and Green is the fifth player to be injured after Nathan Ellis, Xavier Bartlett, Riley Meredith and Ben Dwarshuis.
