Prayagraj, 27 September (Hindustan Reporter). The hearing of the appeal against the sentence of former Samajwadi Party MLA from Kanpur Irfan Solanki and his brother Rizwan Solanki and the appeal filed by the state government to increase the sentence and other cases will now be heard on October 3.

The appeals are being heard by the division bench of Justice Rajeev Gupta and Justice Surendra Singh. The state government has also challenged the special court's order acquitting Solanki in the conspiracy case.

The court has sentenced the Solanki brothers to seven years of imprisonment in the case of burning the house of a Kanpur woman. Which he has challenged in the appeal. The state government has also filed an official appeal demanding commutation of the seven-year imprisonment to life imprisonment. The court fixed the date this morning itself. Kanpur court had sentenced seven years against Irfan and others.
