A joint initiative of FIDE and Tech Mahindra launched the T-shirts of the franchise teams for the second season of the Global Chess League. After the grand success of the 45th Chess Olympiad, this 10-day Global Chess League will be played from 3 to 12 October.
Top chess players including R. Praggnanandhaa, Vidit Gujrathi, Arjun Arigasi and R. Vaishali, who won gold medals in the Olympiad played in Budapest, Hungary, are to play in this league. Players who played for India in the Olympiad will play against each other for their respective teams in the franchise base league, making every match even more exciting.
The winning chess team will get a reward of Rs 3.2 crore
The winning Indian team at the Olympiad will be awarded a prize of Rs 3.2 crore by the All India Chess Federation. Each player will be given Rs 25 lakh, the coaches of both the teams will get Rs 15 lakh each, the assistant coaches will get Rs 7.5 lakh and the head of the Indian delegation Barua will get Rs 10 lakh.
