Sultanpur, 23 September (HS). Miscreants carried out robbery at Bharat Jewellers shop under Kotwali Nagar police station area. During the investigation, names of 14 accused came to light, out of which police have arrested 11 accused. One of these 11 accused is Anuj Pratap Singh.
Superintendent of Police Soman Verma said on Monday that Anuj Pratap Singh has died in an encounter with STF in Unnao district. Anuj Pratap Singh is one of the 5 accused who entered the jewellery shop and carried out this robbery. A reward of Rs 1 lakh was declared on him by the zone office on 4 September. Earlier also Anuj Pratap Singh had committed a bank robbery in Surat, Gujarat. For which he had gone to jail. The police has recovered the entire gold jewellery which is about 2.6 kg in this entire case. Apart from this, the police has also recovered a total of 30 kg of silver jewellery.
He said that the names of the remaining accused in this incident are Arbaaz, Furkan and Ankit Yadav. The STF and police team are continuously searching for them. They will be arrested as soon as possible and necessary legal action will be ensured.
It is noteworthy that on 28th August, in broad daylight, in Chowk Thatheri Bazar of Kotwali Nagar, five miscreants had escaped after robbing jewellery worth Rs. 1.25 crore from a jewellery merchant at gunpoint. A live video of which had surfaced. Seven teams including STF were deployed to uncover the incident.
