Major terrorist attack in Pakistan, bomb blast on convoy of ambassadors of 11 countries, 1 dead, 4 injured | News India

Pakistan Terror Attack: Yesterday, a terrorist attack took place on a convoy of ambassadors of 11 countries in Pakistan. The terrorists targeted a police van escorting the convoy of foreign ambassadors travelling from Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Malam Jabba.

The terrorists blew up the van with a remote-controlled bomb. One police officer was killed in the attack, while four others were injured. The injured have been admitted to the district hospital of Saidu Sharif. A large number of police forces were deployed at the spot.

According to media reports, District Police Officer Zahidullah Khan said that a group of foreign ambassadors were targeted in the attack. The deceased policeman has been identified as Burhan. The injured also include a sub-inspector. The van that was targeted was at the front of the convoy.

All ambassadors are safe

Police officials said that all the ambassadors are safe and have been sent to Islamabad. According to the police, all the ambassadors had participated in the Chamber of Commerce program in Mingora. Later they were going to Malam Jabba. Then on the way, while reaching Sherabad, they were attacked. The convoy included ambassadors of 11 countries including Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Ethiopia, Portugal, Russia.

The President condemned the attack

Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned this incident. Zardari paid tribute to the police officer killed in the attack and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. It is noteworthy that till now no organization has taken responsibility for this attack.

Terrorist attacks increased in Pakistan

Terrorist attacks have increased in Pakistan since the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan in 2021. Terrorist organizations have become more active in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. According to data from the Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies, deadly attacks have increased manifold in both provinces in the last month. The number of terrorist attacks was 38 in July. Which has increased to 59 in August. In August, 25 people lost their lives in 29 terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
