The Indian stock market has opened in the green zone today i.e. Monday 23 September. The market closed 1,359 points higher on Friday as well. Sensex and NSE Nifty started trading at a new record high today on Monday. Earlier on Friday too, the local market had reached a new record high.
Indian stock market opened at record high today. Benchmark equity indices have started the trading session on a positive note. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty 50 opened 0.25% higher at 25,856.05, while the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex opened 150 points higher at 84,693. The key indices opened in the green in early trade. Similarly, the Bank Nifty index opened 11 points lower at 53,783.

Bharti Airtel, Shriram Finance, Bajaj Auto, Divis Labs and M&M were among the major gainers in early trade on the Nifty, while ICICI Bank, Hindalco, IndusInd Bank, HCL Tech and Axis Bank were among the losers.

Stocks in the Asia-Pacific region are trading positive on Monday morning. Asia's Dow is trading with a gain of 0.33%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng is trading in the green with a gain of 0.68%. Similarly, South Korea's KOSPI index is up 0.04% and the benchmark Chinese index Shanghai Composite is trading in the green with a gain of 0.19%. On Monday morning, WTI crude prices were up 0.69% at $71.49 and Brent crude prices were up 0.63% at $74.96.
The market made an all-time high on Friday
Earlier on Friday, September 20, the Sensex reached a new all-time high of 84,694 and the Nifty reached a new all-time high of 25,849. After the day's trading, the Sensex closed 1359 points higher at 84,544. At the same time, the Nifty closed 375 points higher at 25,790.
