In the first match of this series in Chennai, Rishabh Pant has made a new record by returning to Test cricket. Pant stayed away from cricket for a long time after being injured in a road accident in 2022 and then returned to international cricket from the T20 World Cup 2024. However, returning to Test cricket after 634 days, he completed 4000 runs in international cricket and became the second Indian wicketkeeper batsman to score so many runs after Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Scored 19 runs and made a record

In the first test match played between Bangladesh and India in Chennai, Bangladesh bowled brilliantly from the first over itself, due to which India lost 3 wickets for just 34 runs in 10 overs. Rohit Sharma was out for 6 runs and Shubhman Gill was out for zero. After this, Virat Kohli was out after scoring 6 runs. These three wickets were taken by Hasan Mahmud. After which Rishabh Pant, who came to bat in the middle order, completed his 4000 runs in international cricket by scoring 19 runs.

Joined Dhoni's club

Actually, in this match, Rishabh Pant set a record by scoring 19 runs. He is the second Indian wicketkeeper batsman after Mahendra Singh Dhoni to do so. Dhoni has 17092 runs in international cricket as a wicketkeeper-batsman. After Dhoni, now Pant has joined this club by scoring 4000 runs.
