New Delhi. People traveling by train face the most problems during the festive season and holidays, because it is very difficult to get a confirmed ticket at that time, waiting starts as soon as booking starts 120 days in advance. In such a situation, there is a problem in traveling by train with family. There is good news for these passengers. Their problems will be reduced to a great extent. They will be able to enjoy AC travel on unreserved tickets. Know the plan of Railways-

At present, more than 10 thousand trains are running across the country. These include premium trains like Shatabdi, Rajdhani, Vande Bharat. About 2 crore passengers travel by these trains daily. Out of these, about 10 percent i.e. 20 lakh people travel after making reservations. During peak season, the number of passengers increases manifold. Railways has made a plan to provide relief to such passengers.

There was a struggle going on for a long time to make such coaches

The obstacle in installing AC in unreserved coaches was the number of passengers. The number of passengers in all existing AC coaches is fixed. It includes 72 passengers with confirmed tickets and some passengers on the waiting list. Thus this number is around 80, ACs of that capacity are installed according to the number of passengers. When an unreserved coach is full, the number of passengers is around 250. Therefore, it was necessary to balance the capacity of the coach and AC. Railways was struggling to make such unreserved coaches for a long time.

The trial of this train was successful

Coaches with such design have been recently prepared in Namo Bharat Rapid Rail running between Bhuj and Ahmedabad. According to railway engineers, the passenger capacity in unreserved coaches is not fixed, so the axle load has been kept according to the maximum capacity of 270 passengers, while 15-15 tonne ACs have been installed so that the coach remains completely cool when the capacity is full. Just like the way one travels in the metro now. According to railway officials, trials are being conducted in this train. In future, unreserved coaches will be prepared on this concept.

AC with double capacity than Shatabdi-Rajdhani

In unreserved coaches, ACs having double capacity than Shatabdi-Rajdhani will be installed. According to railway engineers, at present, in premium trains like Shatabdi, Rajdhani, two ACs of 8 tons each are installed in every coach, but in unreserved coaches, two ACs of 15 tons each will be installed in one coach, so that the coach remains completely cool.
