New guidelines for flight attendants: American company Delta Airlines has introduced strict rules for candidates preparing to become flight attendants. These include wearing 'appropriate underwear'. Discussions have intensified as soon as a two-page memo full of such rules was released, in which clear guidelines have been given for everything from hair to nails and tattoos.
The company issued these guidelines
According to media reports, the guidelines issued by the company state that,
– Hair should be naturally colored, with no bold highlights or artificial shades.
– Long hair should be tied back above the shoulders.
– Eyelashes should look natural.
– Nails must be modest. Neon colors, multicolored, glittery or handmade designs are not allowed.
– It is important to cover the tattoo. Bandages cannot be used for this, but clothes or waterproof makeup can be used.
– Only one piercing is allowed in the nose. Whereas, only two piercings can be made in each ear. These piercings should be small.
Delta's memo reportedly clearly states that dresses and skirts must be knee-length or shorter. Also, sports shoes are not allowed. Flight attendants can wear heels or sling back shoes.
What's in the memo?
“Delta flight attendants spend the most time with our customers and are the face of our airlines. They must embody the Delta brand and also be passionate about improving the customer experience. Delta flight attendants are expected to create a welcoming, caring environment for our customers. The customer service experience begins the moment the flight attendant puts on their uniform,” the memo said.
