Kanpur, 18 September (HS). Under the “Operation Conviction” campaign, due to the effective advocacy of the police team of Panki police station, on Wednesday, the ADJ-22 POCSO court Kanpur sentenced the accused of raping a 6-year-old girl to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of 50 thousand rupees after being convicted. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, Rajesh Kumar Singh.

He told that in the year 2023, a case was registered in Panki police station against Vinod Singh alias Monu Parihar son of Hemant Singh, resident of Panki Gangaganj G Block, in the rape case of a 6-year-old girl. In this regard, on the instructions of the Police Commissioner Kanpur, Panki police station advocate Akhand Pratap Singh, court clerk Amita Singh, court clerk Vinod Kumar and prosecutor Bhavna Gupta were pleading. Due to the good advocacy of all, ADJ 22 Court POCSO Kanpur Nagar, on being found guilty in the above case, sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50 thousand under Section 4 of the POCSO Act.

On not paying the fine, one will have to suffer an additional 6 months imprisonment and under Section 452 of the Indian Penal Code, the above accused has been sentenced to 3 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs.10,000. On not paying the fine, the accused will have to undergo an additional 1 month imprisonment. Under Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code, he has been sentenced to 2 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs.10,000. On not paying the fine, the above accused will have to undergo an additional 1 month imprisonment.
