Champawat, 17 September (HS). District Magistrate Navneet Pandey on Tuesday visited the disaster affected areas of the district, Vivil, Lopra, Valchaura, Panthyunda, Pancheshwar etc. on foot and took stock of the damage caused in the area. He directed the concerned officials to carry out the construction work of the road damaged by the disaster on a war footing.
Along with taking information from the officials about the damage caused by the disaster and the progress of relief work, he also talked to the disaster affected people in the area and heard their problems and demands. The District Magistrate instructed the officials to complete the disaster relief work promptly and in a timely manner. The District Magistrate gave necessary instructions to the officials of the Revenue Department and Rural Development Department present on the spot.
He also distributed food packets and disaster relief funds in the area. The District Magistrate distributed a cheque of Rs 1 lakh 5 thousand to Lakshmi Devi wife of Mohan Singh in Vivil for her house being damaged during the disaster. During this, the District Magistrate also visited the SSB camp and inquired about the damage caused in the area.
