Do this to lock your Aadhaar card online
Step 1: First of all visit the official website of UIDAI.
Step 2: Now click on My Adhaar option at the top.
Step 3: Here click on the Lock/Unlock Biometrics option from all the different options.
Step 4: Now read all the information and click on Next.
Step 5: Now enter the Virtual ID, Name, Pincode and Captcha and click on Send button.
Step 6: As soon as the number is registered with the Aadhaar card, an OTP will be generated on it.
Step 7: As soon as you enter this OTP, you will see on the screen that the biometric details of the Aadhaar card have been locked.
Generate a Virtual ID
Once your Aadhaar card is locked, you need to have a 16-digit Virtual ID to use it. Virtual ID can be easily generated by Aadhaar card users by sending a message to 1947.
For this, you have to enter RVID and then the last four digits of the Aadhaar number in the message box. And send a message to 1947. As soon as you do this, your virtual ID will be sent to your number.
