Order to control the procession to maintain peace while allowing Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession | News India


Prayagraj, 13 September (HS). The Allahabad High Court has directed the SDM to take a reasoned decision and inform the petitioner on granting permission to take out Eid Miladunnabi procession (Bara-Wafat) on 16-17 September in Bijnor and Najibabad.

The court has said that it should be ensured that the procession does not disturb the peace and tranquility of the area. The government should fulfill its responsibility of security. The court has said that if it gives permission for the procession, then it can control the number of people participating in the procession by deciding the route and time period. It should also be ensured that no one takes part in the procession with weapons. The route and area should be secured. These things should be considered before giving permission for the procession.

This order was given by the division bench of Justice Shekhar B Saraf and Justice Manjeev Shukla while disposing of the petition of Khidmat Khalq Educational Welfare Society and others. In the petition, a demand was made to issue a writ to allow a procession on the occasion of Barawafaat.
