Canada: Preparing for no-confidence motion against Trudeau government: Opposition leader | News India

Vancouver: Conservative Party of Canada leader Pierre Poibre said yesterday (Wednesday) evening that a no-confidence motion will be brought against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government as soon as possible. Drafting and preparations are being done for it.

After Jagmeet Singh's New Democratic Party withdrew support from Trudeau's Liberal government, Moilber's Conservative Party has decided to bring a no-confidence motion against the Trudeau government. For this, he has also contacted Jagmeet Singh. He says that due to the increasing demand for food in the country and the ever-increasing prices, Jagmeet Singh's party has withdrawn its support from the Trudeau government. We are asking Jagmeet Singh to support this no-confidence motion. However, Jagmeet Singh has not yet clarified anything about this.

Actually, the constitutional term of the Trudeau government is ending at the end of October 2025. But if the no-confidence motion is passed, Trudeau will have to resign immediately. But it is also possible that Trudeau will take over the government with the help of other small parties.

Currently, Trudeau's Liberal Party has 154 seats in the lower house (House of Commons), which has 338 seats in the Parliament of Canada. Which is much less than the half number of 169. Actually, the Liberals should have 170 seats. It has fallen short by 16 seats. So it survived with the support of 24 members of the NDP. Now that they have withdrawn support, Trudeau's difficulties have increased. However, Yves François Blanchet's party Bloc Quebecois, which is strong in the French-majority area, is ready to support Justin Trudeau. But many conditions have also been placed with this.

See whether the no-confidence motion is passed in the House or not, if it is passed he has to submit his resignation to the Governor General.
