Jhansi, September 12 (HS). Due to the torrential rains that have been going on for the last 40 hours and before that, the power supply in Baruasagar town and its surrounding areas has been getting disrupted almost every day. Meanwhile, the public came out on the streets on Thursday to teach a lesson to the careless electricity employees. The residents of the area expressed their displeasure towards the officials and took out a funeral procession of the electricity department and protested.
Despite Ganeshotsav being celebrated in pandals at various places in the city and the Dashlakshan Mahaparva of the Jain community, the traders, devotees and citizens of the city, troubled by the continuous disruption of power supply for the last three-four days, took out the funeral procession of the Electricity Department under the leadership of Hindu leader Manoj Sharma. The funeral procession reached Chowk Bazaar after visiting various areas of the city. The funeral procession was performed here. During this time people were walking while raising slogans against the officials of the Electricity Department.
It is noteworthy that due to the absence of electricity supply in the area for a long time, drinking water supply is getting disrupted, while the electricity operated equipment like TV, computer, mobile, machines etc. have become showpieces due to the stoppage. Due to which work has stopped in offices, establishments, shops etc. including homes. People are sitting idle and cursing the electricity department. But the useless officers of the department are failing to solve the public problem. Due to the absence of electricity supply, the problem of drinking water has also arisen. Due to lack of drinking water supply, people are being forced to drink polluted water including rain water. Due to which infectious diseases have also started spreading. Due to which people are getting sick and reaching the doorstep of doctors.
In this regard, JE Rajneesh Kumar said that it is raining continuously and the line is 40 km long. There are trees in between the power line but the workers are working even in such weather. They are also checking where there are faults. There are problems due to rain. Efforts are being made to restore the power system as soon as possible.
