Prayagraj, 12 September (HS). Allahabad High Court has quashed the criminal case registered against a couple who converted to Islam and got married. This order was given by a division bench of Justice Vivek Kumar Birla and Justice AK Singh Deswal on the petition of Sidra Khan alias Shivani and Piyush.
Sahim Khan lodged an FIR in Meerut's Mawana police station accusing petitioner Piyush Kumar of kidnapping his daughter. The petitioner's lawyer argued that both are adults and love each other. Sidra Khan has changed her religion and name to Shivani and has adopted Hinduism. Both of them got married in Shiv Mandir Haridwar. Interference in their married life should be stopped.
