There have been cases of placing gas cylinders and cement blocks on railway tracks from Kanpur in UP to Ajmer in Rajasthan. In the last one week, 4 such cases have come to light, which appear to be a conspiracy to derail the train. Railways has become alert due to these cases and vigilance is being exercised. Anti-terrorism squads and local police have also been activated from UP to Rajasthan. Railway officials say that such incidents are worrying and they are being closely monitored. Officials said that no accident occurred even after gas cylinders were placed on the track in Kanpur on Sunday evening.
The reason was that the driver applied the emergency brake in time. Officials said that petrol and sticks were also recovered from the spot in Kanpur. Due to which the suspicion of a terrorist conspiracy behind this is deepening. In fact, recently Pakistan-based terrorist Farhatullah Ghori had released a video. In which he had asked the terrorists to try to overturn trains on a large scale and target the supply chain to damage India's infrastructure.
Since June last year, 17 such cases have come to light, when thick pieces of wood, stones, gas cylinders etc. were placed on the railway track. Or attempts were made to tamper with the signal. Apart from this, there have also been reports of illegal use of the track by many social media influencers. In all these cases, the RPF has registered a case and investigation is being done. Apart from this, the tracks are being closely monitored in sensitive areas. Officials said that it is not possible to closely monitor the track on such a long route, but all efforts are being made. Minors have been arrested in many cases.
Railway sources say that the possibility of a terrorist conspiracy cannot be ruled out in this case. This is the reason why when this incident came to light in Kanpur, the anti-terrorism squad also reached the spot. Recently, such an incident came to light in Solapur, Maharashtra when a slab was laid on the railway track. Here too, the accident was averted due to the alertness of the driver. Apart from this, in the last one week, two trains including Vande Bharat Express have been pelted with stones. Such incidents are worrisome for the security of the railways and also create a feeling of insecurity among the passengers.
