Punjab Youth Death in Canada: A case of murder of a 22-year-old Sikh youth has come to light in Canada. According to reports, Jashandeep Singh Mann was murdered with a sharp weapon in a parking lot in Edmonton, Alberta on Wednesday (September 4). Jashandeep was a resident of Badla village of Malerkotla, Punjab.
killed with a box cutter
According to the police, it was found that a box cutter was used in the murder. It appears that the killer and the deceased were not acquainted with each other. The deceased's father Bharpur Singh said, 'The Canadian administration should conduct a thorough investigation into this murder. We just want to know why the murder happened. The killer has destroyed our world by taking Jashandeep away from us.'
Punjab Congress made this demand from the central government
Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee leader Preetipal Kaur Badal has demanded from the central government that arrangements should be made to bring back the body of Jashandeep Singh Mann from Canada. The villagers have also appealed to Prime Minister Modi to take this matter to the diplomatic level. People demand that such incidents happening with students going abroad from India should be taken seriously.
Canada's attitude towards killing of Indians is soft
It is worth noting that in the year 2023, a Sikh youth and his 11-year-old son were murdered in Edmonton. The deceased was identified as Harpreet Singh Uppal. Both were shot dead. On one hand, Canada was ready to hold India responsible for the mindless killing of Nijjars, on the other hand, its attitude towards the killing of Indians on Canadian soil seems to be lax.
