Saharsa, 6 September (HS). Teachers who received in-service training raised their old demand of being given trained pay scale from the date of retirement and talked to the District Education Officer and put forward their demand. A large number of teachers reached the District Education Officer's office and raised their demand. A six-member delegation of teachers met District Education Officer Anil Kumar. The delegation included Vijay Kant Jha, Santosh Jha, Rakesh Roshan, Aman Kumar Singh and Mukesh Kumar along with Tridiv Singh. In support of their demand, the teachers reminded of the order of CWJC 4189/2020 of the High Court Patna to remove the salary discrepancy as well as the letter written by the Director of Primary Education to all the District Education Officers in the light of the said order.
Teachers said that teachers of 2015-17 session who received training during service period have been deprived of two increments while teachers trained in 2016-18 session have lost one increment. District Education Officer termed the teachers' demand as relevant and said that information about the said salary discrepancy was sought by the Director Primary Education through departmental letter in the month of July. After getting information about its current status, departmental action will be taken on the teachers' demand soon. Teachers demanded immediate removal of salary discrepancy and payment of outstanding dues and also made clear their intention to continue the fight in a phased manner until they get their rights.
