Pakistan: Pakistan, notorious for promoting terrorism across the world, has done a new nefarious act regarding Junagadh. Pakistan has not only called Junagadh its part, but has also made the ridiculous claim that India has illegally occupied it. According to Geo TV, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has given a statement regarding Junagadh.
Mumtaz said in the press conference that Pakistan's policy regarding Junagadh has always been clear. Mumtaz said that Junagadh was merged with Pakistan. Pakistan looks at this matter from a historical and legal perspective. Junagadh was a part of Pakistan and India's illegal occupation of it is a violation of the United Nations Charter and international norms.
Mumtaz further said that Pakistan has always raised the issue of Junagadh on political and diplomatic forums. They want a peaceful solution to the issue. He further said, Pakistan considers the Junagadh issue as an unfinished agenda just like Jammu and Kashmir. In this press conference, Mumtaz also made a statement on Bangladesh and emphasized that Pakistan will build strong relations with Bangladesh and said that it will be better with the cooperation of both the governments.
Pakistan has shown Junagadh in its map
Pakistan has made false claims about Junagadh in the past as well. In the year 2020, the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, announced a new political map, after which India gave a surprising reaction. While Pakistan claimed Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh as its own, it also included Junagadh. After which the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in an official statement that, we have seen the so-called political map of Pakistan which has been announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan. This is an exercise in political stupidity in which unverified claims are being made on the Indian state of Gujarat and our Union Territories Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. This ridiculous claim has neither legal validity nor international credibility.
