Hathras, 05 September (HS). For a long time, overloaded vehicles with incomplete documents have been mining sand and gravel from Chambal and bringing it on the Agra highway. On Thursday morning, the SDM took action against the vehicles being brought in an overloaded condition against the rules and seized eight vehicles. Seeing this action, other drivers ran away with their trucks. Four vehicles have been seized while taking action against overloading.
SDM Sanjay Kumar said that on the instructions of the District Magistrate, overloaded vehicles carrying Chambal sand, gravel etc. were continuously coming from the Agra highway. Taking cognizance of the complaint, he reached Agra Chungi on Thursday morning and saw the condition of the vehicles. Eight vehicles were seized. After this, RTO and mining department were informed and called on the spot. Seeing the condition of the vehicles, four vehicles were found overloaded by passenger tax officer Rambabu Dohre. All of them have been seized. Action against overloaded vehicles will continue. It was told that there is a weighing machine at the toll plaza in Baraus, despite that overloaded vehicles are passing. This will also be investigated. After all, why are overloaded vehicles passing. Here, there was a stir among the mining mafia after the raid.
Some people associated with the Chambal sand business have said that 12 vehicles were caught in the raid conducted by the SDM, but the officials have shown only 8 vehicles. It is not known what was done with the four vehicles that were caught. Overall, the vehicles that are coming with the documents are not overloaded at all. Efforts are being made to tighten the noose of law on them too.
