Teach biomedical best maintenance methods to health workers | News India

Lakhimpur Kheri, 05 September (HS). A training workshop was organized at the Medical College affiliated District Hospital Motipur Oil with a view to the proper maintenance of biomedical waste. This training was given under the biomedical waste management rules. The training program was chaired by CMS Dr. RK Koli. The trainer was Dr. Vineet Kumar.

During this, CMS Dr. RK Koli told that under the biomedical waste management rules, it has been explained in detail about which waste should be put in which coloured dustbin. Disease free and physical waste, severed body parts, placenta, blood stained needles, bandages, microbial, laboratory waste, animal parts, expired medicines etc. are put in the yellow dustbin. Catheters, canula, IV tubes, plastic bottles, urine bags (syringe without needle), gloves and infected plastic are put in the red dustbin.

Similarly, sharp objects like blades, needles, scalpels are put in white dustbins. Cut glass and metal waste etc. are put in blue dustbins. Its use should be mandatory in hospitals. From time to time, some changes are made in their rules as per WHO guidelines. In such a situation, such trainings are organized by the government to update all the nursing and paramedical staff. Training has also been organized in Autonomous State Medical College affiliated District Hospital Kheri. In which all the nursing and paramedical staff are to be trained, for this four phase two-day training is being organized.

On the first day, training was given by Assistant Professor of Medical College Dr. John Zaib Rizvi. On the second day, training related to bio-medical waste was given by Dr. Vineet Kumar. About twenty employees participated in this training on the first day. Matron Rajni Masih, staff nurse Anjali Devi, chief pharmacist Anil Verma, pharmacist Sarita Gupta, Pankaj Shukla etc. were present during the training.
