Paris Olympics 2024: Egyptian fencer Nada Hafez recently revealed that she competed at the Paris Olympics despite being seven months pregnant. She was eliminated in the last 16 of the women's sabre individual event. The 26-year-old, competing in her third Olympics, won her first match against American Elizabeth Tartakovsky but lost 7-15 to Korean fencer Jeon Hyang at the Grand Palace.
Nada wrote on Instagram soon after her match, '7 months pregnant Olympian! You could see two players on the podium, but in reality there were three. Me, my opponent and my little girl who is yet to be born!' Nada told about the difficulties she faced during this time. She wrote, 'I and my baby had to face many challenges, whether physical or emotional. The ups and downs of pregnancy are difficult in themselves, but balancing life and sports was even more difficult.
She got a lot of support from her husband and family in the Olympics. She also mentioned this. This time Nada came to the Olympics for the third time but it became a special and memorable Olympics. After her post, people came to know that she continued the game even after pregnancy.
