55 lakh rupees recovered in the campaign against illegal vendors

Prayagraj, 03 August (HS). On the directions of North Central Railway, Principal Chief Security Commissioner cum Inspector General Railway Security Force Amiya Nandan Sinha, action was taken against 6547 illegal vendors from January to July this year and a fine of about 55 lakhs was collected from them.

Senior Public Relations Officer Amit Malviya said that Mr. Sinha had taken charge in North Central Railway in September 2023 and from that time onwards, he had given directions to all his officers in all three divisions of North Central Railway to take strict action against the criminals involved in illegal vending on trains and stations along with curbing other crimes in trains.

Under his guidance, effective action is being taken since then to root out illegal vending from North Central Railway. In the year 2023, action was taken against 4618 illegal vendors from January to July. Whereas in the year 2024, from January to July, action was taken against 6547 illegal vendors and a fine of Rs 55 lakh was collected.

In future also strict action will be taken against those who commit such crime. Inspector General RPF North Central Railway has also appealed to the passengers that if the passengers travelling by railways find any person without uniform and ID card selling eatables anywhere in trains or stations, then they should not take any item from that person and eat it.
