Lucknow, May 25 (HS). In the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections, voting is going on since 7 am on Saturday in 58 seats of eight states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Delhi, Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir. In this phase, voting is going on in 14 seats of Uttar Pradesh. Till 11 am, an average of 27.08 percent voting has been done on these seats. Ambedkar Nagar has registered the highest voting percentage of 30.02 percent and Phulpur has registered the lowest voting percentage of 22.85 percent. There are queues of voters at the polling stations and peaceful voting is going on.
According to the Election Commission, in the sixth phase, the voting on the 14 Lok Sabha seats of UP, in the first four hours i.e. till 11 am, was 28.05 percent in Sultanpur, 26.85 percent in Pratapgarh, 22.85 percent in Phulpur, 23.88 percent in Allahabad, 30.02 percent in Ambedkarnagar, 26.69 percent in Shravasti, 27.74 percent in Dumariyaganj, 29.80 percent in Basti, 27.35 percent in Sant Kabirnagar, 28.40 percent in Lalganj (reserved), 28.60 percent in Azamgarh, 26.81 percent in Jaunpur, 27.18 percent in Machhlishahr (reserved) and 25.51 percent in Bhadohi Lok Sabha seat. Amid tight security, voters will be able to exercise their franchise till 6 pm.
A total of 162 candidates are in the fray in these 14 Lok Sabha constituencies, of which 146 are men and 16 are women. The maximum number of 26 candidates are in Pratapgarh Lok Sabha constituency and the minimum number of six candidates are in Dumariyaganj Lok Sabha constituency. There are 2 crore 70 lakh 69 thousand 874 voters in this phase.
