249 widows will get their own house under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Gramin

Moradabad, 02 August (HS). For the first time in the district, on the instructions of the Uttar Pradesh government, 249 widowed destitute women aged between 18 and 40 years will be given houses under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme Rural.

Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Gulab Chand said on Friday that a list of 638 eligible people has been prepared and sent to the government in a survey conducted by the government to provide housing scheme benefits to various categories of beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Housing Scheme (Rural). For the first time, a list of widowed destitute women aged 18 to 40 years has also been prepared on the instructions of the Uttar Pradesh government. Their number in the district is 249. Among these, 57 women are from Scheduled Caste and others are from General Caste, they will be given housing.

Apart from this, 56 people affected by natural disaster, 2 suffering from leprosy, 13 of Nat caste, 88 selected people of Banjara caste will also be given the benefit of Chief Minister Housing Scheme.

Till now, the benefit of Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana (rural) was given mainly to those affected by natural disasters, Van Tangia, Musahar, Kol, Sahariya, Tharu, Nat, Chairo, Pachadya Lohar, Gadhya Lohar, Baiya castes, besides persons suffering from diseases like leprosy, JE, AES and Kala Azar and disabled persons. Now widowed women between the ages of 18 and 40 have also been included in it.
