This will be the first foreign visit of Prime Minister Modi in 2022. PM Modi’s tour will start from Germany. He will then travel to Denmark and leave for France on the last leg of the tour.

Modi’s visit is taking place at a time when there is a war between Russia and Ukraine in Europe and it has been 2 months. It is believed that during the visit, PM Modi can have an important discussion about ending the war.

Bilateral talks with the Chancellor of Germany

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold bilateral talks with German Chancellor Olaf Schulz during his Berlin visit. PM Modi and Chancellor Scholes will co-chair the 6th edition of Inter-Governmental Consultations, ICG. The biennial IGC is a dialogue format involving several ministers from both sides. This will be Prime Minister Modi’s first IGC with German Chancellor Olaf Schulz. During his visit, Prime Minister Modi and Chancellor Schulz will jointly address a business event. Also, Prime Minister Modi will address and interact with the Indian community in Germany.

PM Modi will go to France after Denmark

After visiting Germany, Prime Minister Modi will leave for Denmark. There he will make an official visit to Copenhagen at the invitation of Prime Minister Matt Frederickson. PM Modi organized by Denmark 2nd India-Nordic Summit will also be involved. In the third leg of his visit, PM Modi will make a brief visit to Paris on May 4 and meet French President Emmanuel Macron. India and France complete 75 years of their diplomatic ties this year and the meeting between the two leaders will set an ambitious agenda for the strategic partnership.
