Haridwar, April 27 (H.S.). The controversy over reciting Hanuman Chalisa outside Matoshree, the private residence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, has now reached Haridwar. Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha also burnt an effigy of Uddhav Thackeray while reciting Hanuman Chalisa at Rathi Chowk Bhupatwala. The activists have demanded imposition of President’s rule in Maharashtra at the earliest.
BJYM workers sat on the road at Rathi Chowk Bhupatwala on Wednesday to protest against the sending of MP Navneet Rana and MLA Ravi Rana to jail by stopping the Uddhav Thackeray government from reciting Hanuman Chalisa. After this, the effigy of Uddhav Thackeray was burnt. During the Hanuman Chalisa recitation under the leadership of Mandal President Chandrakant Pandey, BJYM described the act of Maharashtra government as murder of democracy and demanded imposition of President’s rule in Maharashtra.
Mahant Lokesh Das says that as it used to be under the rule of the Mughals, the same is happening now in Maharashtra. I don’t think Uddhav Thackeray is Balasaheb’s successor but his real successor is Raj Thackeray.
Navneet Rana and Ravi Rana had talked about reciting Hanuman Chalisa and Uddhav Thackeray should have welcomed them. This only increases their prestige. But Uddhav’s action has exposed the face of secularism he had created with the Congress. I appeal to all Hindus to support Navneet Rana. Mahant Arun Das says that Hanuman ji is himself a troubleshooter and the one who is doing such work cannot be a Hindu. One who is a Hindu will always be associated with Hanuman ji. Those who are creating such controversy on Hanuman Chalisa, it is treason. There should be cases against them. Balasaheb Thackeray was a Hindu, but how to call him a Hindu, it is power greedy how to sit in power.
BJYM State General Secretary Harjit Singh says that in Maharashtra, a case is registered against an MP and an MLA and sent to jail. But even after having a law in the country, when people of a community come on the road and offer Namaz, then no law applies to them. But if someone reads Hanuman Chalisa, he is charged with sedition.
BJYM District General Secretary Vidit Sharma says that the manner in which the government has done the work of sending an MP and MLA to jail for trying to read Hanuman Chalisa in Maharashtra is an act of throttling democracy. Is it a crime to read Hanuman Chalisa in the country? Can a person not read Hanuman Chalisa? There has been an act of harassment of a woman and harassment of an MLA. We demand imposition of President’s rule there and demand the dismissal of Uddhav Thackeray’s government.
