Raipur, April 27 (H.S.). On the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the Railway Ministry has issued an order to restore the operation of 6 important passenger trains passing through Chhattisgarh late on Tuesday evening. Chhattisgarh Express, Samta Express and Secunderabad-Raipur-Secunderabad Express will continue to operate.

It is noteworthy that the Principal Chief Operations Manager, South East Central Railway, Bilaspur issued an order on 23 April 2022 to stop the operation of 23 express and local trains passing through Chhattisgarh for the next one month from 24 April 2022.

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had raised a strong objection to the said order issued by the Railways. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the Additional Chief Secretary wrote a letter to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Railway Board urging them to continue the operation of trains passing through Chhattisgarh. On Tuesday evening, the Chief Minister discussed with the Union Railway Minister the problems being faced by the passengers due to the sudden suspension of trains for a month without any alternative arrangement. During discussion with the Railway Minister, the Chief Minister said that thousands of passengers of Chhattisgarh reach their destination every day by traveling by trains. Due to the closure of trains, there will be a lot of inconvenience to the passengers in the movement.

Agreeing with the Chief Minister, the Union Railway Minister has announced 6 major passenger trains passing through Chhattisgarh namely 18237/18238 Korba-Amritsar-Korba (Chhattisgarh Express), 12807/12808 Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin-Visakhapatnam (Samta Express) and 12771/12772 Secunderabad. Including the Raipur-Secunderabad Express, the order to restore the operation was issued late on Tuesday evening.
