Thanjavur Accident: A major accident has happened in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. At least 10 people were killed when lightning struck them during a temple festival in Thanjavur district on Wednesday morning. During the procession, the chariot came in contact with the high pressure wire passing over it, after which the entire chariot was electrocuted and caught fire. Ten people died and 15 were injured in this.

During the Rath Yatra, when the devotee was passing through the road, the electric current coming from above came in contact with the chariot and an electric current descended on the chariot. Many people were injured and burnt in the accident. Senior officials reached the spot and started rescue and relief operations.

ANI has reported that 10 people died of shock after coming in contact with a high pressure transmission line during a temple chariot procession in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. According to the latest news, children are also among the dead. According to PTI, the incident took place in nearby Kalimedu, when the chariot procession of the temple was going on.


After taking a turn, the chariot of the temple came in contact with the overhead line. This time the electric current entered the chariot and many people were shocked. PTI said that the people standing on the chariot fell into the collision. Then the chariot caught fire. The three injured have been admitted to Thanjavur Medical College.
