On the basis of the record e-way bill issued in March, the GST collection may reach a new record level in April also. According to the data, more than 2.16 crore e-way bills have been generated under GST. 15 percent more e-way bills were generated in March than in February. E-way bill is the income of the government. Increasing e-way bill issue means that the government will get more revenue from GST.

In March 2009, 8,412 crore e-way bills were generated, which is the highest monthly data since the online system was launched on 1 April 2016. The increase in e-way bill generation reflects the increase in demand and shipments by companies before the end of the year.

GST collection in March (February transaction) stood at Rs. reached an all-time high of 1.5 trillion. In February, e-way bill generation grew by 0.6% to Rs 2.412 crore, while March GST collection (February transactions) grew by 4.5% to Rs 1.5 trillion on a monthly basis.
