SpiceJet has announced that flights connecting Bhavnagar, Gujarat with Pune and Mumbai will start from May 5. According to the airline, additional flights will also start on the Ahmedabad-Pune route. The UDAN scheme will be used to operate the Bhavnagar-Pune flight, as stated earlier.

SpiceJet will deploy its Q400 aircraft for flights. Under the UDAN scheme, financial incentives from the central, state governments and airport operators are provided to selected airlines to encourage operations from unserved and underserved airports and to keep airfares affordable.

 

SpiceJet has recently started covering several new domestic flight routes. Earlier, airlines started flight services between Delhi and Pantnagar, earlier, they started flights between Gorakhpur and Varanasi under the UDAN scheme to increase tourism and connectivity in the above mentioned places. These new domestic flights come as part of SpiceJet’s announcement to launch 60 new domestic flights this summer.

 

Earlier, the airline said in a statement that it would launch eight industry-first flights, operating in the Gorakhpur-Kanpur, Gorakhpur-Varanasi, Jaipur-Dharamsala and Tirupati-Shirdi sectors in the summer schedule.
