Jhansi, April 27 (H.S.). BJP candidate Bharat Sen filed his nomination in the election of deputy chairman of the executive committee held on Wednesday after the municipal executive elections were over. But after the time for nomination had elapsed, the election officer declared him elected unopposed as the Deputy Speaker after no other claimant filed nominations.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has been winning the election of the Deputy Speaker in the Municipal Corporation. For the last four years, the BJP has won the seat of the Deputy Speaker. The number of members of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the executive is 7 while the number of members of an opposition party is 5. At the same time, the vote of the mayor is considered decisive in the election of the deputy chairman. According to this, at present the mayor also belongs to the BJP and the total 8 votes got by the BJP seven executive members.
At the same time, the number of opposition was reduced to just 5 members. Looking at all these votes, the Deputy Speaker’s crown was in favor of the BJP. On Wednesday, the election process of the Deputy Chairman election started in the Maharani Laxmibai meeting room located in the Municipal Corporation administrative building in the presence of the Returning Officer of the Executive Committee, Gulab Hussain. In which Bharat Sen of BJP filed his nomination papers.
No nomination was made by any other claimant other than the BJP candidate till the completion of the nomination process which lasted till 12 noon. On this, the election officer declared Bharat Sen elected unopposed as the deputy chairman. As soon as the announcement was made, Sadar MLA Ravi Sharma, Mayor Ramtirth Singhal and all the councilors and executive members of Bharatiya Janata Party congratulated the newly elected Deputy Speaker by garlanding them and feeding them sweets. Election officials handed over the certificate to Bharat Sen, who was elected unopposed.
