Meerut, April 27 (H.S.). A major fire broke out in a chemical factory in Mawana of Meerut district on Wednesday. With a loud bang, flames started rising in the sky. Nearby people hurriedly informed the police and fire brigade about the matter. Fire brigade teams are busy extinguishing the fire.

There is a chemical factory on Fitkari Road in Mawana town. A huge fire broke out in this chemical factory on Wednesday. People said that before the fire started there was also the sound of a loud bang. The fire took a severe form. There was panic in the whole town as smoke covered the sky. In a hurry, the people around informed the police and fire brigade about the incident. Several vehicles of the fire brigade reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire, but due to the intensity of the fire, the fire brigade is finding it difficult to douse the fire.

Along with Meerut, fire brigade vehicles were also called from Hapur. As soon as the fire broke out, the workers working in the factory came out saving their lives. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Goods worth lakhs of rupees have been burnt due to the fire. Seeing the horrific form of the fire, the police evacuated the surrounding premises. Chief Fire Officer Santosh Rai says that efforts are on to douse the fire. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
